KoldReach Guide
How to Create an Email Sequence in KoldReach
What you'll accomplish
A KoldReach sequence is a repeatable set of email steps. The first step is the initial email; later steps are follow-ups that continue the same Gmail thread. Build and test the message before adding contacts so an accidental enrollment cannot send unfinished copy.
Before you begin
- A KoldReach account
- Gmail connected before sending
- A clear audience and outreach goal
Step-by-step instructions
- 1
Open the sequence list
Select Sequences in the sidebar and choose Create sequence. Use a name that identifies the audience and purpose, such as “Alumni — product research — spring,” rather than a vague name like “New sequence.”
- 2
Write the initial email
In Email Steps, use the Subject field for the first step and the Body editor for the message. Keep the request specific, explain why the recipient is relevant, and add a clear signature. The initial email is the only step that needs a subject.
- 3
Personalize deliberately
Use the editor’s variable picker for supported contact and sender fields. Preview the sequence with a real test person before activation; missing data should not produce an awkward blank greeting.
- 4
Save the steps
Select the save control shown by the editor after writing. Wait for the success state before navigating away. Add follow-ups only after the initial step renders correctly.
- 5
Review settings and activate intentionally
Use the Settings tab to review send days, holiday behavior, and pacing. The sequence Overview tab exposes counts, rates, and a timeline. Activate only after a test and a final copy review.
Tips and troubleshooting
A follow-up has a subject
Follow-up steps continue the initial Gmail thread and the UI describes them as having no subject. Put the subject on Step 1.
Saving too late
Save after the initial email and after meaningful edits. A browser refresh can discard unsaved editor state.
Activating before testing
Use Show preview and Preview as in Email Steps, then test with a controlled address. Activation is an operational decision, not just a formatting step.
Completion checklist

- □ Initial subject and body are complete
- □ Variables were previewed
- □ Steps were saved
