How to Import Contacts Into KoldReach From a CSV

What you'll accomplish

The current KoldReach People UI is built around LinkedIn enrichment and does not expose a CSV import control. This guide prevents a common documentation mistake: do not look for an Import button that is not present. Use the supported Add Person flow for individual records, or ask your workspace administrator about an approved import path before sharing contact data.

Before you begin

  • A verified source of contact data
  • Permission to import and email the contacts
  • An authorized administrator if a bulk import is required

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

    Check the People screen first

Open People and inspect the page actions. The current interface provides Add Person and the selection toolbar’s Add to Sequence action; it does not provide a CSV file picker or column-mapping screen.

  2. 2

Do not upload a CSV to an unrelated field

Do not paste a CSV into the LinkedIn URL field, an email editor, or a browser console. Those actions cannot create valid KoldReach records and may expose personal data.

  3. 3

    Prepare a review file offline

If an administrator has approved a future or private import process, keep a UTF-8 CSV with one row per person and columns such as LinkedIn URL, first name, last name, company, title, and email. Remove duplicate rows and contacts without a lawful outreach basis before sharing it.

  4. 4

Use Add Person for a small batch

For a small list, open People → Add Person for each canonical LinkedIn URL, review enrichment, and save. This is slower than a bulk import but matches the supported product behavior and preserves duplicate checks.

  5. 5

    Verify records before outreach

Search People for each saved person, open their profile, and confirm the email, company, status, and LinkedIn URL. Only then select people and use Add to Sequence.

Tips and troubleshooting

An article says to click Import

That instruction does not match the current UI. Follow the supported LinkedIn-first flow or obtain an approved product update before attempting a bulk load.

Uploading sensitive data to a third-party converter

Avoid online CSV converters for contact data unless your organization has approved them. A CSV can contain personal information and should be handled as confidential.

Completion checklist

  • □ People was checked for a real importer
  • □ No unsupported upload was attempted
  • □ Contact permission was reviewed
  • □ Small batches were verified in People
  • □ Only verified contacts were enrolled
